Tanvald, a town in the Liberec Region, boasts a rich history linked to the textile and engineering industries. First mentioned in the 16th century, the town flourished through the processing of flax and later cotton. The 19th century saw the establishment of factories here, and in 1948 Tanvald became the location of the first Czechoslovak television broadcast.
