The Weatherly Building in Portland, built in 1926 by ice cream entrepreneur George Weatherly, is the tallest building east of the Willamette River at 53 meters. It shaped the development of the “Uptown District” and once housed an ice cream parlor. Architecturally, the building is distinguished by its Neo-Romanesque brick facade and terracotta ornamentation. Originally connected to a neighboring theater, it remains a significant landmark of the city today.Wikipedia
