The Palais Bourbon, located in Paris’ 7th arrondissement, is the current meeting place of the French National Assembly. Originally built in the 1720s for the Duchess of Bourbon, it was later seized during the French Revolution and served as a meeting place for various governing bodies, including the Council of Five Hundred. Notably, Napoleon added a neoclassical façade in the early 19th century. Today, the expansive palace complex comprises over 9,500 rooms and houses around 3,000 people, including the President of the National Assembly who resides in the adjacent Hôtel de Lassay. Its rich history reflects France’s evolving political landscape. Wikipedia
